LAST POST

This being the last post of the year I decided to write about why I decided to make this my blog theme in the first place.
Music is something that is already part of my daily life. I love to listen to it ALL THE TIME, no matter how busy, bored, or tired I am. Its something that can change my mood completely and that definitely has an impact on my days.
Its a way to help me express what I feel without saying a word, which make it all so much easier.
The great thing about it is that there is at least one song that relates completely with what I feel or what I want to say no matter what it is...

well... hope this blog entertained all of you the way music entertains me... and don't ever forget the great things music brings us all!!

CHRIS BROWN IN BRAZIL!!

Chris Brown will arrive in Brazil on tuesday, one day ahead of the first of four concerts that he is doing here as part of his International Fan Appreciation Tour.
He goes to Belo Horizonte on Wednesday, on Thursday he has his show in São Paulo and he finishes it off on Saturday with a show in Porto Alegre.
He will wrap up his tour in the UK and Ireland.
His show in São Paulo will be on the Credicard Hall, which is a good place but not very big.
At first I really wanted to go to his concert because his songs are fairly good and I would like to see Chris Brown, but now I don't really care as much.
Hope to hear good things about it...

GLEE
I think most of you have already heard of the new hit TV show called GLEE!
The show is about a spanish highschool teacher who decides to restore the glory from the school's Glee Club. He is able to gather a bunch of students (not only geeky ones) to participate in the club including the popular cheerleaders and football players. There is a whole story showing daily highschool dramas and how they deal with it with the glee club.
The great thing about this show is that its not only funny in a kind of silly way, but the actors really sing great songs that everyone knows of, and they sing it REALLY WELL.
Its a new show and it already won a Golden Globe Award, another 9 wins and 15 nominations... IT IS GOOD!
I really like this TV show and can't wait for the second season to come out!
When I saw the commercial on FOX I knew I was going to like it because of the songs they were singing. The songs are not only great, but it has to do with the episode, making it even better!
I really love this show and hope that everyone gets a chance to experience it a little.
It goes on FOX, Wednesdays at 22:00pm.
Here is a little clip from the amazing singing on the show...

Axis of Awesome

The Axis of Comedy is an Australian comedy band that formed in 2006. The band gained more success after performing at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival where they presented the "Four Chord Song"in 2009.

I had never even heard of this band until my math teacher showed this performance to us during class... I loved how they were creative in setting so many songs that have absolutely nothing to do with each other, all combined in one song.
They combined songs like Don't Stop Believing- Journey and Whatever You Like- T.I
which are perfect examples of complete opposites!!
It was something I had never even imagined seeing which made it even better!!
To do something like this they need to be VERY talented and creative...
Here is there amazing performance...

POWER OF MADONNA

The hit TV show GLEE continues its season with new episodes more exciting than before!
The episode aired this week was like a homage to one of the best pop singers of all times: MADONNA!!
In the episode the glee club has an assignment to choose Madonna songs with the objective that the girls would embrace her strength, independence, and confidence.
In doing so, the episode has some of Madonna's biggest hits like: Like a Virgin, Vogue, Express Yourself, Borderline, Open your Heart, 4 Minutes, and Like a Prayer; all featured by the great singers in the show (especially Lea Michele (Rachel) and Cory Monteith (Finn)).

I saw the episode and I have to admit, I impressed by how fast this season is getting better and better and I can't wait for the next episode!! The songs are also getting better and so is the story... so, we can't miss it!!

Here is a preview from the Madonna episode... like a prayer... enjoy!

UNITED STATES OF POP- 2009

DJ EARWORM, once again, made another year-end mashup consisting of the top 25 popular hit songs (according to Billboard magazine) of 2009.
It is a follow up from the mashups he made in 2007 and 2008.
This year most of the songs seem to tell the same story: that we've ben through a lot, and now we only have to celebrate with music and dance cause everything will be OK.
With this spirit in mind, here is the BLAME IT ON THE POP 2009 mashup songs:

  • The Black Eyed Peas - BOOM BOOM POW
  • Lady Gaga - POKER FACE
  • Lady Gaga Featuring Colby O’Donis - JUST DANCE
  • The Black Eyed Peas - I GOTTA FEELING
  • Taylor Swift - LOVE STORY
  • Flo Rida - RIGHT ROUND
  • Jason Mraz - I’M YOURS
  • Beyonce - SINGLE LADIES (PUT A RING ON IT)
  • Kanye West - HEARTLESS
  • The All-American Rejects - GIVES YOU HELL
  • Taylor Swift - YOU BELONG WITH ME
  • T.I. Featuring Justin Timberlake - DEAD AND GONE
  • The Fray - YOU FOUND ME
  • Kings Of Leon - USE SOMEBODY
  • Keri Hilson Featuring Kanye West & Ne-Yo - KNOCK YOU DOWN
  • Jamie Foxx Featuring T-Pain - BLAME IT
  • Pitbull - I KNOW YOU WANT ME (CALLE OCHO)
  • T.I. Featuring Rihanna - LIVE YOUR LIFE
  • Soulja Boy Tell ‘em Featuring Sammie - KISS ME THRU THE PHONE
  • Jay Sean Featuring Lil Wayne - DOWN
  • Miley Cyrus - THE CLIMB
  • Drake - BEST I EVER HAD
  • Kelly Clarkson - MY LIFE WOULD SUCK WITHOUT YOU
  • Beyonce - HALO
  • Katy Perry - HOT N COLD
I personally liked this mashup better than the 2007 and 2008 just because of how well the songs fit together and how the "theme" makes it even more exciting.

here is the video for the 2009 mashup:

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE

This week's post is about one of the most famous singers of the whole world. His career grew immensely on a short period of time, and he, with a lot of hard work and dedication became the huge star he is today.
JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE began his career when he was small but only became famous on the late 90's as the lead singer of the boy band N'Sync. The band unfortunately didn't go very far, especially because at that time a lot of other boy bands were coming up like the Backstreet Boys and Westlife.
Justin didn't give up his dream after the band and worked on a solo career. In 2002 he released his first solo album, Justified, which sold more than seven MILLION copies.
His first two solo albums made him one of the most commercially successful singers, selling in excess over 9 million copies each. His big career made him work with various other great artists making great songs such as Madonna, Ciara, Timbaland etc...
Justin also invested on his acting career and until now has won six Grammys and two Emmy Awards.
I am now waiting anxiously for a big show here in Brazil... Hope its soon!!!

Here are a few of my favorites songs:
- My Love
- Carry Out
- Sexy Back
- Lovestoned
- What Goes Around Comes Around
- Cry me a River
- Dead and Gone
- Losing my Way
- Summer Love
- Love and Sex and Magic
- 4 Minutes
- She Wants it (ayo technology)

"Melhores do Ano"

This last Sunday there was a big event in a Brazillian network: Globo.
Globo is one of the main TV networks here in Brazil and probably the most watched.
During "Domingão do Faustão", a Sunday show, there was kind of a premiere for Brazil's best stars.
This year a great brazillian singer of "Axé" called Claudia Leitte won the award for singer of the year. Everyone was surprised she won, afterall she was competing with another great singer known world wide, Ivete Sangalo.
Claudia Leitte had gone through so much this year because of her newborn son, Davi, that no one actualy believed she would win, but knew she deserved it. I was really happy she won, even though Ivete didn't, because she truly deserved it. She gained everything she has become with her own hard work and even with tough problems she was strong and got over it.
Can't wait to here some of her new songs...

Telephone SOON!!

As most of you probably heard, Lady Gaga and Beyonce have a another single together.
This time the song is called TELEPHONE and until now has been greatly appreciated by their fans. As a big fan o Gaga I can say with certainty that this song is a big hit and that I can't wait to see the music video.
The thing is, the video for this song is turning into a big thing and and is said to have its world's premiere today at 9pm (USA's time). YES, the music video has a WORLD PREMIERE AND besides it its said to have about 10 MINUTES OF VIDEO!!!
I think I've never seen such a long music video (besides Michael Jackson's Thriller...)
I can't wait to see this video... I've seen pictures of the productions and I think its going to blow everyone's minds!!! So, here is what Gaga tweeted about it : "Telephone is coming I promise! Still editing. I want it to be perfect," what is PERFECT for Gaga? We'll find out soon!!
Beyonce's hit Videophone that has Gaga's participation is already a great video, now I think, since Gaga is already kind of crazy, thats this video will surprise everyone.

COLDPLAY

Last Tuesday, March 2nd, one of the greatest and more expected shows happened in Sao Paulo.
COLDPLAY had never been here and my friends who went to the concert told me it was PERFECT.
Besides the great songs from his tour "Viva La Vida" which we all know of, the concert was beautiful, with all sorts of effects.
I really wanted to go, but unfortunately couldn't and listening to all the great things everyone was saying about the show made me really sad.
Here are the songs that were played by the band:

"Life In Technicolor"
"Violet Hill"
"Clocks"
"In My Place"
"Yellow"
"Glass Of Water"
"Cemeteries Of London"
"42"
"Fix You"
"Strawberry Swing"
"God Put A Smile Upon Your Face/ Talk"
"The Hardest Part"
"Postcards From Far Away"
"Viva La Vida"
"Lost!"
"Shiver"
"Death Will Never Conquer"
"Don Quixote"
"Viva La Vida" (remix)

Even though I don't really know some of these songs, I know that this concert would have been a great experience and that I would have loved being there...
Hope they come back soon with more great songs and this time I WILL ATTEND NO MATTER WHAT!!!

We Are The World For Haiti

As most of you may already have seen there has been a remake of the We Are The World song as support for Haiti. The remake gathered more than 80 of today's biggest stars. None of the singers of the original song were invited for the new one, which was recorded at the same studio as the original. Quincy Jones ("creator"of originall) and Lionel Richie ( co-writer with Michael Jackson) were also present in this great event.

I think its really great how all these great artists came together to do something that may seem simple, but that means SO MUCH. I am totally for this kind of "charity/fund raisers" that involves so many. Gathering so many great musicians to sing one song calls much more attention, and is so meaningful that it really makes people want to help and remember what is going on in the world.

Here is the video of the remake and a list of the main artists who had a solo in this event.

Justin Bieber
Nicole Scherzinger
Jennifer Hudson
Jennifer Nettles
Josh Groban
Tony Bennett
Mary J. Blige
Michael Jackson
Janet Jackson
Barbra Streisand
Miley Cyrus
Enrique Iglesias
Jamie Foxx
Wyclef Jean
Adam Levine
Pink
BeBe Winans
Usher
Celine Dion
Orianthi (on guitar)
Fergie
Nick Jonas
Toni Braxton
Mary Mary
Isaac Slade
Lil Wayne
Carlos Santana (on guitar)
Akon
T-Pain
LL Cool J (rap)
Will.i.am (rap)
Snoop Dogg (rap)
Busta Rhymes (rap)
Swizz Beatz (rap)
Iyaz (rap)
